Eileen began her fitness journey in high school, running cross country and a number of events in track and field. Upon entering college, Eileen fell in love with the gym, specifically weightlifting. After a year of heavy weight training, she began competing in powerlifting events and won a number of competitions in the squat and deadlift categories in the Virginia Beach area. Shortly after college, she switched her focus to bodybuilding competitions and remained a competitor even as an active duty Coast Guardsman. In 1994, she was honored with the title of U.S. Coast Guard Elite Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments in Bodybuilding Competitions.
After leaving active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard, Eileen became a law enforcement officer in South Florida. Unfortunately, she suffered a serious neck injury while working, which required corrective surgery and many months of rehabilitation. During this time, Eileen discovered a passion for teaching others how to exercise safely and effectively. Her unique perspective regarding training beyond a spinal injury gave her a new philosophy, ” … The more you move, the better you move.” She takes that philosophy to both her clients and her group fitness classes by teaching proper form and alignment to ensure more effective exercises.
Eileen is also the proud mom of two athletic girls. This has motivated her to develop a youth exercise program to assist high school athletes reach their full potential, which she plans to launch at Tribe Studio. Eileen is an AFAA certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. She also holds additional certifications in barre and kettlebell specialties.
