Heidi Hendrix

When Heidi was young, competitive swimming and gymnastics began etching the marks of an athlete that would serve her well later in life when she needed it most. In college, Heidi worked as a dance teacher and choreographer for competitive dance groups and studios. Tragedy struck during her last year of college when she shattered her left knee. Doctors said she would never walk the same – much less dance again. ‘Winning’ doesn’t make an athlete. Showing up…Never giving up…And giving it all you’ve got, does!
Therapy, education and self-treatment proved recovery IS possible. Heidi began her dual career in Atlanta as a television spokesperson, corporate presenter and fitness professional. Twenty years later, she moved to South Florida to continue working in these fields and quickly fell in love with the triathlon culture. There’s nothing quite like the energy and support you feel when you engage in large group athletics working towards the same goal, much like teaching group fitness classes. Heidi has been an educator all of her life, a TV host, corporate presenter delivering somebody else’s message. Over the years, she came to understand her own words… “Be true to yourself. Don’t ever give up on the things that make you feel alive. DANCE! (even when you’re wearing a full leg cast for eight months). Do the work…. because there are no shortcuts! The work is always more fun anyway!”

Heidi’s experience includes a variety of fitness certifications with continuing education in specialty interests and multiple group fitness modalities including:
• CPT certified personal trainer
