A self-described ‘gym rat’, Shaun became a member of one of the oldest fitness centers in town at 15 years old. Weight training and cardio was always important to her, even throughout her years at the University of Florida where she obtained a BS in Marketing and Minored in Economics.
After getting married and then pregnant with her son Hunter, she lost her fitness groove and gained 70 pounds. Then Shaun’s second son, Holden, was born and she experienced another weight gain. This is when she knew she HAD to get back in to shape. Ironically, In the 16 years of traditional gym memberships, she’d never taken a group fitness class. Once walking through the doors of the studio, she has never looked back. Shaun fell in love with indoor cycling and acquired her Spinning certification through the original creator Mad Dogg Athletics (Johnny G). She felt empowered and saw that her body was changing in ways it never had before.
Today, she teaches many more fitness specialties and thrives on helping her students be the best that they can be. Shaun says, “… I love to see the look on their faces when they nail a new skill, increase weight, or just make it through a class when they’ve had an off day”. She believes in using multiple disciplines to take a functional approach to training. Beyond indoor cycling training, Shaun is also certified through AFFA for Group Fitness, Silver Sneakers, and Ballet Barre. Shaun’s classes are always smart, well-designed and thoughtful in her approach.
